Terms of Use

01Agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of Marine Vault, an application built and operated by Context Avenue Labs ("we", "us"), an independent software studio based in Canada. By downloading or using Marine Vault, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

02Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Marine Vault on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these terms and Apple's App Store terms of service.

03Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Marine Vault. You grant us the limited rights needed to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you. We claim no other rights over your content.

04Beta terms

Marine Vault is provided as a beta release through Apple TestFlight. The beta is free of charge. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and we may reset or migrate beta data as the product evolves. We will communicate clearly before any future paid tier applies to you.

05No navigational or safety reliance

Marine Vault is a record-keeping tool. It is not a navigation aid, safety system, or substitute for professional marine surveys, inspections, or manufacturer maintenance requirements. You remain solely responsible for the seaworthiness and maintenance of your vessel.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law.
• Use the app to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our written consent.

07Disclaimer of warranties

Marine Vault is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

08Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Context Avenue Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Marine Vault. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

09Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including your content rights, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

10Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable laws of the province in which Context Avenue Labs is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
